Collection Specialist II – Therapeutic Apheresis

Hours: Business hours as needed by the Therapeutic Apheresis Department. In addition, will rotate on-call for therapeutic procedures during weekday and weekend hours.

Job Summary

This position primarily performs therapeutic apheresis at local hospitals. Does follow-up on Donor Reaction Injury Reports (DRIRs). Also assists in health histories at the Donor Center and miscellaneous activities during periods of down time in the therapeutic apheresis department. Complies with safety policies and procedures in the work area and uses applicable protective equipment at all times. Functions as a member of a team at all times to ensure a smooth and efficient blood collection process and effective patient management during therapeutic apheresis.

Qualifications

  • Must have an RN License.
  • Proven success as a Collection Specialist I or Collection Specialist II.
  • Excellent customer service experience, effective verbal communication, professional and friendly demeanor are required.
  • Exceptional documentation skills and the capability to work in a heavily regulated environment.
  • Ability to work a variable schedule including on-call.
  • Ability to take initiative problem solving, work independently, and interact professionally with customers.
  • A current valid driver’s license and good driving record is required.
